House-Made Mixer of the month

This Month: Fall Foliage

Cocktail Mixer: Fall Foliage $11 / 9oz. bottle (makes 3 drinks)

Citrus, cranberry & warming spices

We make a cozy autumn spice blend and simmer it into a simple syrup; then, blend it with fresh citrus juices, cranberry essence and a dash of bitters. This is delicious mixed with your favorite spirit- we like Bourbon, but have yet to meet a bad match.

Try it also added to hot black or green tea for a zero-proof fall treat.

All of the special drinks for the passport have been designed to be easy to prepare at home. While we prefer to shake our drinks, you don't need any fancy bar tools. A mason jar with some ice and a tight fighting lid will work well. If you prefer your beverages straight up, shake first and then strain into your favorite glass.

Our most delicious version of a mixer used a 3:2:2 ratio of the mixer to alcohol and sparkling water. You can certainly tweak this to your personal taste, and desired strength of drink. Replacing the quantity of alcohol with sparkling water worked well in order to create a non-alcoholic beverage. We don't recommend replacing the alcohol with something sweet like juice or soda, as the mixer is concentrated. Blending with ice could be a fun alternative or addition to the alcohol component.

Recipe makes 1 drink with enough for a top-off

Pour the following into a 16 oz. mason jar with two handfuls of ice:

3 oz. mixer (shake before pouring)

2-3 oz. spirits

    Shake like crazy!

Pour into your favorite glass, ice and all (or strain for martini-style), and top with 1.5 oz. sparkling water. gently stir and enjoy.
